Nursing Services

Services provided by a Registered Nurse provided by a Registered Nurse,(RN), or Licensed/Practical/Vocational Nurse(LPN/LVN) providing services within her/his scope of practice permitted under Hawaii State Statutes.

Scope shall include Nursing Assessment, Nursing Care Plan, Instruction, Monitoring, Teaching, and Evaluation. May include direct Nursing Care procedures:

  • Catheters: Insertion/Removal and Irrigation
  • Decubitus and other sterile wound care/dressing
  • Injections
  • IV Therapies
  • Medication Administration
  • Respiratory Treatments: Suctioning, O2 Administration
  • Tube Feedings
  • May Include delegation od special tasks of nursing as described in ACCSB standards and Chapter 16-89 Administrative Rules

Personal Assistant

Level I Services

  • Companion Services are non-medical care supervision. May assist individual with meal preparation, laundry,shopping/errands
  • May include light housekeeping that are incidental to care
  • Does not include hands on nursing care

Level II Services

Personal Assistants PA I

Homemaker Services are services per authorized by the individual service plan that are of a routine nature and shall not require specialized training:

  • Routine Housekeeping
  • Care of Clothing
  • Marketing and shopping of household supplies and personal essential
  • Light yard work
  • Simple home repairs
  • Meal Preparation
  • Running Errands
  • Escort to clinic, PMD visits
  • Minimal assistance and supervisions of activities of daily living

Personal Assistants PA II

Services provided by :

Home Health Aide (HHA)

Personal Care Aide (PCA)

Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)

Nurse Aide (NA)

  • Personal Hygiene
  • Assistance w/ Bowel & Bladder (B&B)
  • Assistance with transfers
  • Assistance with medications w/c are ordinarily admnistered
  • Assistance with feeding, meal preparation and other dietary activities
  • Assistance with exercise, positioning and Range of Motion (ROM)
  • Taking vital signs including blood pressure
  • Measuring and recording Intake and Output when ordered (I&O)
  • Special Task of Nursing Delegation

RESPITE CARE SERVICES (SHORT TERM RELIEF)

SERVICES provided to relieve the normal caregiver or a family member needing a relief or a vacation.

 

ATTENDANT CARE SERVICES (MFCCP only)

Hands on care of both supportive and health related nature, specific to the needs of a medically stable, physically handicapped child.
